The National Citizen Party (NCP) has initiated its ‘July march to build the nation’ program to commemorate the anniversary of the July mass uprising.
The program commenced with a visit to the grave of Abu Sayeed, a martyr of the anti-discrimination student movement, located in Babanpur Jafarpara village of Pirganj upazila in Rangpur at approximately 10:30 am today, Tuesday.
On this occasion, central leaders of the NCP convened at Babanpur Jafarpara village this morning. Among those present were party convenor Nahid Islam, member secretary Akhtar Hossain, chief organiser for the southern region Hasnat Abdullah, chief organiser for the northern region Sarjis Alam, chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary, senior joint coordinator Abdul Hannan Masud, and senior joint member secretary Tasnim Jara, who all paid their respects at the grave. They subsequently engaged in conversation with the family members of Abu Sayeed.
After visiting Abu Sayeed’s grave in Pirganj, the NCP plans to conduct a street rally and road march in Gaibandha.
Additionally, the NCP is set to execute a road march through Park Mor, Lalbagh, Shapla Square, and Jahaj Company Mor in Rangpur, culminating in a street rally at the Town Hall at 3:00 pm.
Previously, on Sunday, NCP convenor Nahid Islam officially unveiled the ‘July march to build the nation’ program during a press conference held at the party’s temporary central office in the Banglamotor area of Dhaka.
